

Dorothy Rose (Ball) Duddington was born to Warren Weld and Rose Jean Ball on May 12, 1925 in Portland, Oregon where she lived her entire life. She attended Ockley Green School and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Shortly after the end of WW II mutual friends introduced Dorothy to Arthur Duddington. They were married on July 16, 1946 and were married for more than 50 years until Art's death in 1997.
For most of her working life Dorothy was a professional secretary beginning at the Portland Public School District before her marriage. She also worked as the secretary of Calvary Lutheran Church and for a CPA firm before retiring from Hyster Company after many years.
Dorothy was an accomplished cook, a skilled seamstress and knitter, and an avid reader. She was an adventurous and inquisitive traveler. When she could no longer go in person she would travel all over the world through books.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughter Christine, son Walter, daughter-in-law Monica, grandsons Michael (Alicea) and Peter, and great-granddaughter Willa Ray.
Private internment at Willamette National Cemetery. Memorial service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7810 SE 15th at 1:00 pm on May 12. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Oregon Humane Society or a favorite charity.
