Dorothy Dorothy Elizabeth Green, 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Dorothy Swank was born in Topeka, Kan., in 1926. She graduated salutatorian from Sabetha High School. Dorothy then attended Junior College before heading to New York City to work for Trans World Airlines. Upon returning to Kansas City in 1950, she met Eldon Green who had recently served in WWII. They married soon after and went on to have two daughters, Janet and Jayne. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. As Eldon advanced through the Federal Highway Administration, the family made many moves across the country. Dorothy was instrumental in supporting Eldon's career. Later in life, Dorothy and Eldon traveled, and enjoyed time with their children and grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Green; daughter, Janet Ferguson; and grandson, John Arnold. She is survived by her daughter, Jayne; son-in-law, Bob; grandchildren, Emily, Laura, Rachael, Manoy, Tavhasye and Lokai; and great-grandson, John Daniel. A service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 207, at Skyline Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow.
