

Dorothy Mae Whittaker was born Dec. 5, 1920 in Spokane, WA to George and Hallie Whittaker. She was raised with her twin brother, Charles, and older brother, Donald. Dorothy graduated from Roger’s High School of Spokane in 1938.
Dorothy moved to San Diego and began work for Consolidated Aircraft where she met Raymond Stark. The couple was married Aug. 2, 1920 in Yuma, AZ at 2:00am in 112 degree heat. They had two children, Julie and Dale. They were also blessed with two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
During her life Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crafts, canning, baking, cooking, and any activity that contributed to homemaking. She was also a member of the Parkrose Heights Methodist church for over 50 years. She was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was a German Shepherd dog named Kala.
Dorothy passed away Dec. 10, 2010 in Clackamas, OR. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers. Dorothy’s family and friends will remember her most for her caring and gentle ways. She will be missed.
Dorothy’s family suggests contributions in her name to the Oregon Humane Society.
