

Edith Louise Kaufman passed away on March 10, 2015 at the Robison Jewish Health Center. Louise was born on December 15, 1925, in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Grant High School. Louise attended The University of Washington and Lewis & Clark College, where she earned her Master's Degree.
She taught 3rd grade for the Beaverton School District for 17 years. In her spare time, she loved to play tennis, bicycle, hike and garden. Louise was an avid reader and book club member. After her retirement, she traveled extensively to Europe, Middle East, Asia, National Parks in the United States and wintered in Palm Springs. She was a news junky who enjoyed watching Rachel Maddow, Charlie Rose and OPB.
Louise was preceded in death by, husband, Seymour Kaufman, and siblings, Alfred Marshall, Rhoda Aiken and Betty Sorenson. She is survived by her children, Gary Sherman, Michael Sherman, Carol (Jon) Kaufman and Dean (Jane) Kaufman, 4 grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Friday March 27, 2015 at 1:00 in the Pollin Chapel at Temple Beth Israel, 1972 NW Flanders street.
