Edna Elizabeth Pfeifer

November 10, 1939 – March 19, 2026
Obituary of Edna Elizabeth Pfeifer
IN THE CARE OF

Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home

Edna Elizabeth “Liz” Pfeifer, 86, of Portland, Oregon, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Happy Valley, Oregon.

Born Edna Elizabeth Ward on November 10, 1939, in Florence, Oregon, to Edgar Seiner Ward and Myrtle Bischke, Edna was part of the last graduating class of Eugene High School in 1957, before it became South Eugene High School the following year. In 1962, she married Richard Paul Pfeifer (1937–1982).

She began her professional life as an executive assistant, working first in a law firm and later in the paper industry with Boise Cascade, before discovering her true calling as a travel agent. Her career eventually led her from Portland to Lake San Marcos, California. Once she received her travel agent’s license, she fully embraced her love of travel, exploring destinations ranging from African safaris to the fjords of Norway, and sailing on her favorite ship, the QE2.

Edna also found joy in mystery novels, crosswords, and cheering on the Portland Timbers. She was known for clipping and sharing articles from local newspapers and weeklies about the Boys in Green and Gold with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher, Erich, and Ted; their wives, Joy, Kelly, and Missy; her grandchildren, Stella, Mason, and Madison; and her nephew, Anthony Taylor.
