Edward was a fascinating man. He loved to learn and was always enthusiastic about educating himself. He spoke five different languages: English, Spanish, Russian, German and Japanese. He was a devout Christian and loved studying the Bible above all else. Although he didn’t watch much TV, Edward did enjoy watching boxing on occasion. He often mentioned that it was all fake but he still couldn’t resist. In his younger days, Edward spent a lot of time traveling.
Edward was quite the charmer, always complimenting and giving flowers to the women in his life. He would say that it doesn’t cost anything to give someone a compliment. As a barber, Edward’s charisma made his clients comfortable and at ease.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne Arndt; his son, Donald Arndt and Donald’s wife, Deborah Arndt. He is survived by his sons: Timothy (Laurie) Arndt, Kenneth Arndt, Robert (Deborah) Arndt and Jonathan Arndt; his grandchildren: Heather Arndt (Scott) Anderson, Jeremy Arndt, Nathan Arndt, Ashley Arndt, Joshua Arndt, Sarah Arndt, Robert (Jessica) Arndt and Shawn Arndt; great-grandchildren: Zephyr Anderson, Rogan Arndt and Grayson Arndt; and his sister Lydia Doolittle.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 12-8pm at Ross Hollywood Chapel. His funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th at 2:30pm at the funeral home. Edward will be laid to rest at Rose City Cemetery.
