

Eugene Graber died on July 19th, 2020 in southeast Portland, Oregon. He was born on June 2, 1925 in Glendive, Montana to Ralph Ora and Ann Julia (Richert) Graber. He grew up in the Richey area of Montana with his siblings Archie, Wesley, Vinona, Kennith, Berneice and Connelly, up through high school until he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country during World War II as a torpedo man on the USS Pampanito.
After serving in the Navy, he came to Portland, Oregon where he met his wife, Wanda Elaine Lemmons and they married on November 4, 1945. Together they had two children, Mary Ann Graber (Lisk), born in June of 1955 and Marla Jean Graber, born in April of 1968. Eugene and Wanda were married for almost 73 years when she passed away on May 12, 2018.
Eugene worked for Standard Oil/Chevron for over 37 years taking on many roles such as a service station manager, fuel truck driver and a TBA driver. He retired at 58 years old.
For much of his life he was an avid golfer, playing matches locally at Glendoveer and Rose City as well as traveling to destinations such as Palm Springs and Hawaii. He was also an active fisherman, trolling the Columbia and Sandy Rivers. Eugene and Wanda were regular bowling league winners in the years he was employed by Chevron and has the trophies to prove it. He was a man who took pride in his floral gardens, focusing on roses and dahlias. In his later years he enjoyed wood craft projects to keep him busy.
Eugene and Wanda travelled regularly to Hawaii and Palm Springs, often with close friends or family.
Eugene has faith in God and his church was an important part of his life. He devoted much time and effort to church maintenance and construction projects. His last church home was River of Life Lutheran Church in Troutdale.
Burial services will be held privately at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland, Oregon.
