OBITUARY

Everett Nelson Wright

November 22, 1929August 30, 2019

Everett Nelson Wright, age 89, beloved dad, grandpa and great papa, entered into the presence of his Savior on August 30,2019. Born November 22, 1929 in Vancouver, Washington, he was a champion fast pitch softball pitcher, an avid golfer, an accomplished dancer and a member of the Milwaukie Elks for 50 years. He became a logger in Carson, Washington in 1948, and then served in the Army (Private First Class—artillary) from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. In 1954 he met Patty Jo White, they married in 1955 and he fathered three daughters. In 1959 he moved to Milwaukie, Oregon and began working in the mobile home industry, eventually running a 25 year successful business, “Ev’s Mobile Home Service”, retiring in 1987. He is preceded in death by his parents Willard Gale Wright and Annis Tennessee Bradshaw Wright, his brothers, Haskell, Stacey and Elvis Wright, his wife of 29 years, Patty Jo and his partner of 14 years Nadine Duff. He is survived by his daughters Tanya Jo Stone (Steve) of Estacada, Oregon; Susan Terzo, of Oregon City, Oregon; Sandy Ham (Craig) of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren: Terry L. Lund II; Mandy Litherland; Haley Stone; Ryan Lund; Addie Combs; Christopher Lund; Jonathan Ham and eight great-grandchildren.

The family would like to sincerely thank the administration and caregivers at Aveena Memory Care in Damascus, Oregon and Bristol Hospice for their love and excellent care for Everett during these past months.

He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Willamette National Cemetery on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Please meet in the lobby of Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 9:30 for escort to the military service at 10:00 a.m.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milwaukie Portland Elks Lodge, 13121 SE McLoughlin Blvd., Oak Grove, Oregon.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, that you please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Lung Association.

I shall always have s smile on my face whenever I think of golfing with my Uncle Everett , Dad and Elvis. It was always a hoot, especially because Everett had mastered the one handed putt., which always made me laugh. That’s a good laugh on every green. Just for fun I sometimes still try it and think of him.
