Gay A. Gillespie

Gay was born and raised in Portland. She graduated from St. Marys High School and earned her BA degree from Portland State University and her Masters of Education from Lewis and Clark College. She taught at Hillsboro High School for 6 years before entering the business world. After several years as the first manager of the Beaverton Raquetball Club, she left for a career with the Pitney Bowes Corporation. There she rose through the management ranks achieving the corporation's highest awards and honors during her 17 year career.

Gay led an active lifestyle. She played requetball, tennis, softball, skied, was a certified scuba diver and a lifelong golfer. Gay married Braden Gillespie on June 26, 1979, and they have been 30 year members at Tualatin Country Club. They have raised 2 wonderful sons, Brett (30) a University of San Diego graduate and financial planner with MetLife Securities, and Cole (27) an OSU grad and professional baseball player with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Gay and Braden built their home in West Linn 31 years ago where they still reside. Gay is survived by her husband, 2 sons, brothers Todd and Brad, sister Jan, nephew Mike, nieces Emily, Auna and Whitney, stepmother Donia, and nurmerous relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Peggy and sister Robin.
