Genevieve Menzia

Genevieve (Genny) Menzia was born on April 5, 1924 in Glen Ullin, North Dakota to John and Elizabeth Schaff, the youngest of five children. In 1945, she moved to Prosser WA and met her husband, Leo. They were married May 15, 1946 in Glen Ullin surrounded by family.

Genny worked as a nurse's aid for 18 years at Mt. St. Joseph nursing home. She was an active member of Assumption parish assisting in the daily operations of the church. She enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, walking, and family. Genny was an avid sports fan supporting the San Francisco 49rs and St. Louis Cardinals in the good years and bad.

Genny was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leo; her parents, sister Rose, and brothers, Jacob and Anthony. She is survived by her sister Frances of St. Paul OR; children, James and Donald of Vancouver WA, Janice Stude of Portland OR, Robert of Rainier OR, Jean Fisher of Anchorage AK, Thomas of Vancouver WA, 15 grandchildren and 20+ great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held Thursday, November 6th at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am both at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vancouver, WA. Committal will be at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Ray Hickey Hospice House 2112 E Mill Plain Blvd. Vancouver WA 98661. All that were blessed to know her and will be remembered in our minds, hearts, and spirit will miss Genny. Genny is in the care of Ross Hollywood Chapel.
