George H (Buck) Rogers

George passed away peacefully one day before his 94th birthday surrounded by family. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Marvel Marie and his son Robert George Rogers, He is survived by his remaining children Sharon Marie Harrington- Koellner (Eric), and Ted Rogers (Maryjane). He had 6 grandchildren, Troy Harrington, Tara Martin, Kimberly Cia, Christi Rogers, Cimena Gordon and Miquela Rogers. He also had 7 great-grandchildren, Natalia Harrington, Ian Harrington, Danica Cia, Connor Martin, Damario Cia, Elliana Gordon, and Calista Gordon. He loved them all, even though he was not always able to spend time with them. George's passion was salmon fishing and he spent many hours on the river, waiting for the big one to bite. He also enjoyed traveling on the open road, whether it be for work or for pleasure. He and Marvel preferred driving their motor home over flying. George was an employee of Safeway Stores for 35 years, and an active member of the Teamsters, Local 162 and believed strongly in fighting for the rights of workers to have a fair wage and health insurance. His expectations for his loved ones and friends were high, and he left no room for doubt when he expressed them. He will be missed by all who knew him.
