Private services will be held for Gerald L. Burger who passed away from complications of cancer on February 2, 2012 in Portland, Oregon at age 72. Mr. Burger was born in Portland on April 3, 1938 to Kathryn and William Burger. He attended grade school at St. Fredericks and graduated from Scappoose High School. He attended college at Portland State University and received a bachelor’s degree, he later went on to join the Coast Guard. He married Beverly Bauer on October 10, 1975, they moved from Scappoose to Sauvie Island and resided there the last 34 years. Mr. Burger enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with Bev, family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Beverly and his children Bob (Diane) Bauer, Dan (Barbara) Bauer, Pam (Jim) Munson and Bonnie (Ty) Winsor; siblings, Richard (Kathy) Burger, Roy Burger, and sister Jean; his loving grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his four dogs; Missy, Shaboo, Patches and Sadie. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in his name to The Humane Society.Arrangements under the direction of Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Portland, OR.
