Smokey has been a positive productive member of Brother Speed Motorcycle Club since October 1, 1981. He was definitely a man's man and if asked how he was, his response was always "premium". He had a gruff exterior but was a very loving, caring and thoughtful man who was always willing to share a smile. He could easily be talked into playing cards and was the first person to show up if anyone needed a hand. Smokey was an animal lover and it wasn't uncommon for him to be traveling with his pets. When he'd stop for something to eat, he would order a steak and a hamburger. The hamburger was for him and he'd cut up the steak and give it to his dogs.
As Smokey's health took a turn for the worse, he continued to stay strong. He told his family he wanted to go on his own terms as he turned to his wife, Linda, of 45 years and said, "you know just how much I really love you, right?" He was the rock the family knew and loved.
Smokey asked to spent his last moments outside with his family, enjoying some ice cream. At 4:30 on the afternoon of July 7th, Smokey was removed from all life support, was given medication to make him comfortable and he closed his eyes. Smokey took his last breath at 11:33 p.m. that evening, resting peacefully free of pain.
He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Jim (Toni) and Ward, grandsons Jake and Norman and great granddaughter Kaylin.
Smokey will forever be eternally "premium".
