Geraldine Sinnard died peacefully at home September 30th, 2016 with her daughters Cathy, Carol and Patrice Kennedy by her side. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on 2-18-1928. She was preceded in death by her Icelandic parents Kristjan and Bjorg Einarson, her only sister Pauline Watt and her husband Elven. She loved her 4 grandchildren Kristjan, Kaisang, Arya and Sean. A former teacher of the Portland City Schools, she was also a long term active member of the First Unitarian Church. For the last three years she happily resided in the community of Edgewood Downs surrounded by many friends. We will miss her love, smile, bright eyes and sweetness. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. By Mary Elizabeth Frye
