In honor of Gilbert LeRoy West, who passed away December 25th, 2014, at the age of 88, a Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church; recitation of the rosary will start at 9:00 a.m.
Gilbert was born July 16th, 1926, to Albertina and William West in Rochester WA. He attended Rochester High School, then entered the Army at age 19, where he received the World War II Victory Medal for his service in China. He married Pauline February 11th 1961, starting his new life, supporting his family of nine. Gilbert worked in the shipyards, at Dwyer Mill and was a member of Labor Union 296.
He is survived by his sister Bertha Shafer; children Mattheu West, Rebecca Rodgers, Kristi Thomson, Martin Truman, Terry Truman, Nicole Watts, Otto Truman and 11 grandchildren.
