

Gladys grew up in Nebraska with her sister Irene and her brothers Orville & Lloyd. As a young woman she moved to the Portland area where she met her beloved, Donald Green. On June 14, 1952 they married and remained together until his passing on October 6, 2005.
Over the years Gladys worked for various car dealerships including Packard Motor Cars, Mack Trucks and Roberts-Kenworth Motors. She owned and operated a women’s apparel shop and also a very successful antique shop at the Vancouver Antique Mall that she loved most of all.
Gladys was active in her community volunteering with the Parkrose Lions Auxiliary, a member of the AAUW Antique Study Group and also President of the Toastmasters. She loved to travel and had fond memories of her adventures with Don. She would say “It’s a heavenly story with my husband Don, I’ve had a fairy tale princess life”. They traveled by boat, plane, train and even ocean liner all over the world from Jamaica to Japan. Gladys had a wonderful and fulfilling life, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Emma Zauss; her siblings Irene Pincott, Orville Zauss and Lloyd Zauss; and her beloved husband Don Green.
Gladys is survived by her niece Darlene Minor and many loving friends.
A viewing will be held from 12:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, 1515 NE 106th Avenue, Portland, OR 97220. She will be laid to rest privately with her husband Don at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086.
