Glenn Everett Hotchkiss, age 94, of Wilsonville, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Glenn was born March 26, 1926, in Superior, Wisconsin. When Glenn was a child, the family moved around often in his school years. At the age of eighteen, Glenn was in the process of joining the Air Force, but while having required dental work he ended up being drafted by the Army. He went on to serve in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with star, the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with star, the Army Occupation Medal of Japan, and the Victory Medal along with a Good Conduct Medal. Upon his return to stateside, he got out of the Army and lived with his family in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Glenn attended Pacific University for one year and then found a job driving a log truck in Tillamook, OR.
Along the way, he drove long haul trucks and eventually started driving for Continental Baking Company. Glenn drove from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington from 1957 to 1988. In 1987 he received a 30 year 2 million mile accident free award. He retired in 1988.
Some of his fondest memories were annual family vacations to British Columbia and a canoe trip with son Jeff, his brother Wes and sister-in-law in Alaska. He enjoyed fishing and adventures with family and close friends. After retirement Glenn and Betty would travel to Arizona in their RV along with other destinations with lifelong friends Howard and Dorothy.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty, son Jeff & wife Debbie; grandsons Jeremiah and Justin; step grandchildren Allison and Sean and four great-grandchildren.
