Greg was very intelligent and studied German and Russian in high school. He was fascinated by WWII and history in general and worked as a cook at Amato’s restaurant in SE Portland, Or. before joining the army in 1970. He served honorably in Korea in the DMZ but received a medical discharge in 1975.
For fun Greg loved rock music and the Beatles and in his youth collected comic books, owning Superman #1 and other highly prized comics at one time.
In later years Greg struggled with mental illness and cancer. He will be missed for his warmth and very dry sense of humor. Greg leaves behind two brothers, a sister and nieces and nephews who love him. His family would welcome donations to NAMI or cancer research.
