I know Griffin through his mom's eyes, who I've known since grade school.  He was kind, smart and adventurous and his family was so proud of his accomplishments in his young life.  One of the first times Tammy and I reconnected was to meet at the park with Griffin and my son.  It was a lot of fun to see them play together while his mom and I talked as if no time had passed.  There are no words to express how my heart aches for his family.  He knows how deeply you love him.

We first met Griffin through our son, Raif, in Boy Scout Troop 229. We have great memories of Scout outings, hikes, and adventures. Griffin was a great part of Raif's scouting experience. 
From golfing to playing the card game Magic into the wee hours of the night, Griffin was always a pleasure to be with. His leadership qualities along with his innate kindness towards everyone else truly will be missed.

Griffin and our son Lance, met each other in Boy Scouts.  Over the course of 6+ years the boys of Troop 229 shared many experiences and created memories they will carry for a lifetime.  Griffin was a good friend, a confident leader and someone we all relied on to help guide the Troop.  This memory is from their first summer camp at Camp Baldwin where they tried to catch fish almost every day. 
Our deepest sympathy for the loss of this wonderful young man. He will remain in our thoughts and memories.

I met Griffin when he was just in middle school and started cutting his hair along with Grandma, Mom and sister. He has always been a joy to be around and just a polite kind sweet kid. I was able to watch Griffin grow from a boy to a young man. Griffin was so special to me he always listened to my crazy stories and was able to laugh along with me. I absolutely adored him. I will miss him tremendously  and my heart is shattered. Rest in peace my kindest sweet soul you were a joy to all of us and it was a privilege to have met you. You are loved more than you’ll ever know. Take care of your sweet most amazing famiky from up above.❤️

Griffin was a friend of mine,  I met him through his uncle. I have this great memory of showing him around Boston.
I made him get Dunkin’ Donuts, and look at the view of the city. He looked over at me and said “am I from Boston now” I replied with oh yeah! After that, we went to one of my friends house. We all had so much fun that night. I remember laughing so hard my ribs hurt the next day.
 

I only knew him for a few years but boy did he make an impact.

Griffin  was a friend of my son Keaton. He always had such a sweet kindness about him and his smile was amazing. Whenever he came to the house or the boys got together I was always impressed by the calm quiet energy he had that many young man that age don't possess.

I met Griffin at BSLC when he was visiting with George. I didn't get a chance to really get to know him, but with the short interactions I had, he reminded me of my son, who is the same age. He seemed kind, caring, and inquisitive but also pensive about what was next for him. The world needs more boys/men like Griffin and I'm heartbroken to hear of his passing. It was obvious he brought joy to the people who loved and knew him best.

I don't have any words right now, but I can say I loved him very very much. We did this hike June 26th and it was a truly extraordinary and beautiful day.

We learned how to skateboard together. We would go to Multnomah village every day after school and he would show me new music and talk to me about his record collection. I wish I could offer better words, simple condolences feel disingenuous. All I know to say is my life has improved greatly with Griffin in it.

Please receive my deepest condolences for the tragic loss of Griffin.

I would like to share a Bible passage that gives hope and comfort to those mourning the passing of a loved one, it states:” He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces…”(Isaiah 25:8)
