Haley Nicole Rife, affectionately known as Hay-boo to some, lived a life that brought joy to those around her with her radiant smile, inviting spirit, and infectious laugh. Born on October 30, 1992, in Portland, Oregon, Haley's journey through life was a testament to the power of courage, love, and laughter that brought people together. Sadly, on July 10, 2024, her life came to a tragic end in Austin, Texas.
Haley grew up surrounded by a loving family that included her dad Bruce, her mom Terry, her sister Alyssa, her brother Nick, Poppy James Moore, Grammy Vergene Moore, Grandma Carol Rife, and Papa Edward Rife. Her extended family was a robust network of support, with Aunt Cindy Hill, Uncle James Hill, Uncle Tom Moore, Aunt Kathy Moore, Aunt Barbara Furstenberg, Uncle Jeff Furstenberg, Aunt Amy Hart and Uncle Patrick Hart playing pivotal roles in her upbringing, along with her Brother-in-Law Jamal Keuter, Nephew JJ, and Niece Portia, and her cousins Lindsay, Spencer, Elle, Kyle, Michael, Josh, Eric, Alex, Zach, and Aliyah. The relationships she forged with each of them are filled with love and fun memories.
Haley's interests were as diverse as her talents. She relished the team spirit and competition of sports during her high school years, and her love for music was a constant source of joy and inspiration. Haley grew up around animals and loved her dogs Cody and Jackson, and cats Louie, Macy, and Grey. She enjoyed her church youth group activities and Young Life and made the decision to be baptized on September 7, 2008, at Solid Rock Church in Beaverton, Oregon.
Haley attended Oregon State University where she completed her undergraduate degree in business. Her quest for personal and professional growth led her to the National Holistic Institute, where she became a licensed massage therapist. As well as her educational accomplishments, what she treasured most was the life-long friendships she made along the way.
Professionally, Haley was a shining star at Tesla, where she worked as a Production Associate. Her dedication and hard work were recognized through several awards from both team members and leadership. Her natural gift to inspire and uplift others had a positive impact on those around her. She was looking forward to a promotion starting August 1, 2024. Haley’s courage in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all.
Above all, Haley was driven by a desire to help others, going out of her way to show love and kindness to all the people she crossed paths with. Her relationships were deeply meaningful, built on her loving and playful nature. Haley’s ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary with her humor and love for games, made every family gathering memorable. She was always ready for a game challenge like Charades, Pictionary, Life, and Hand and Foot. The holidays were a favorite of Haley's filled with family tree hunting, Christmas movies, cozy socks and a challenging puzzle. She was looking forward to Sunriver and being home this Christmas to play in the snow. The Lord has filled our cup with memories to treasure so that each day when we think of her, we are overcome with joy, a smile and a laugh.
Haley's spirit of reflection, courage, desire, grace, love, and compassion will continue to resonate and inspire her family and loved ones. Her life is a beacon of hope and will continue to shine bright in the hearts of everyone whose lives she touched.
A remembrance service of love, lament, and hope will be held on September 7, 2024, from 2:30pm - 4:00pm at Skyline Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229
