He was born December 9, 1937 in Silverton, Oregon to Walter and Leona Erland. Harold graduated from North Marion High School in 1955. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Oregon College in 1972 and worked for the State of Oregon Employment Office for 30 years until retirement in December of 1996.
Harold had a passion for fishing and hunting. He was a youth sports coach and an avid Blazer fan. After enjoying an active life he struggled with Parkinson's Disease for 28 years.
Preceding him in death is his son, Danny Erland.
Harold is survived by his two sons, Brian Erland and David Erland; daughter, Robin Moulton; brother, Ray Erland; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Friends and family are welcomed to attend the memorial service for Harold at 4pm on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ross Hollywood Chapel, 4733 NE Thompson St. Portland, Oregon 97213.
