With heavy hearts, we share that Harold McIntyre, 63, of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026. He was a brother, father, and grandfather, and we will miss his laughter and stories, and the time we thought we still had.
Harold was born on December 25, 1962, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Robert and Dora McIntyre. Although his military family moved often during his early years, he always considered Oregon City, Oregon, home.
Harold loved working with people and helping them solve problems. He spent his career in IT management and help desk support, most recently at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. He was a computer whiz who connected with people naturally. He could get a conversation going with almost anyone and usually found a way to make them laugh.
Outside of work, Harold loved just about anything involving space or science fiction. He enjoyed reading sci-fi books and having “movie nights”, featuring buttery popcorn and old movies or anime, including Star Wars, Dragon Ball, which he watched with his daughters as they grew up. Those hours spent watching together are memories they will always hold close.
Harold had a soft spot for chihuahuas. If something had a chihuahua on it, everyone knew it was probably his. His little Sophie, now 17, was his much-loved companion and remains part of the family he leaves behind.
His favorite thing was making people laugh. We’ll miss his infamous dad jokes and funny stories, and that one-of-a-kind laugh that was just so ‘dad’.
To his family, Harold was a piece of home. There was comfort in his familiar stories, in whatever cooking or baking experiment he was trying (usually banana flavored), his random texts of “hello”, and in simply being together. Those everyday moments mean so much now. We wish there were more to come.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Megan, Haley, and Audrianna, and older brothers, Joe and Bob.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, November 6th at 12:00 pm followed by 1:00 pm burial at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to their Go Fund Me (https://gofund.me/ff79ac7aa) which will go towards burial and funeral costs.
We love you, Dad. We wish we had more time with you.
