Harold was born in Canby, Minnesota to parents Harold and Gladys Yackley on September 21, 1935. In his younger days, he worked on the family farm. After graduating high school, Harold joined the Army. It was during his world travels he met the love of his life, Joan Popple on a trip to England. They were married in 1957, and had three wonderful children together.
Harold enjoyed spending time with family and watching the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Timbers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joan Yackley; his children Michael Yackley, Paul Yackley, and Wendy Nelson; his siblings Darlene McClay, Gloria Kleve, Ruth Risch, and Roger Yackley; grandchildren Charlotte, Liam, Joshua, and Ethan; and of course numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Fry.
Services will be held at Finley-Sunset Hills- 6801 SW Sunset Highway, Portland, Oregon 97225 on Thursday, October 27th at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
