Hazel Louie Lee was born in Portland's Old Chinatown, the third of five children of Louie Sing Chung and Jue Sim Ngook. Fluent in both Cantonese and English, Hazel worked as a stenographer for Gock Jack Lee, whom she married in 1939. Over the next 37 happy years, Jack and Hazel raised three sons, Harvey, Gordon and Myron. Hazel approached life with a keen sense of family, and particularly enjoyed sharing a good Chinese meal with her extended family, including seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Her service is on Feb 19, 11 AM at Caldwell's Chapel on 20 NE 14th.
