Helen was born in Portland, OR on December 12, 1931 to William and Dorothy (Wykoff) Taylor where she was raised with her siblings and graduated from Franklin high School in 1950. She attended college, worked in the advertising departments of the Oregonian, Tacoma News Tribune and Longview Daily News and enjoyed her time as an administrative assistant at Kalama High School.
Helen married Robert L. Blosser in 1953, enjoying her children, gardening, painting and traveling abroad with the Royal Rosarians, as well as, serving on many committees.
Helen loved a good meal and rarely met a jumbo shrimp or crab cocktail that she didn’t like! She liked going to the movies, eating out, reading and her stories of growing up in Portland were vividly recalled and full of detail. She was very engaged in current events; often unapologetically stubborn and opinionated-wanting only what she thought best for her family. She was fiercely independent, driving up until a month before her passing.
Helen lost Bob in 1999 and was also predeceased by her sister Mary Ellen Stadig and her brother William E. Taylor II. She is survived and will be missed by her children, Diane Boyington (Linda) and Greg Blosser (Pam), her much loved grandchildren and great-granddaughter; sister Pat Johnson, brother Robert Taylor and lifelong friends.
At her request, there will be no funeral service.
