She was the first District 6 coordinator (four years) for Alpha Rho State, New Oregon Trail Editor (six years) and served on the by-laws committee.

She and her beloved husband, Toby belonged to numerous dance groups and entertained family and friends with her gourmet meals, fabulous pies (perfect crust), homemade ice cream and chocolate popcorn (secret recipe)!

Helen was my typing and shorthand teacher. She was terrific! I learned English grammar by taking her classes more so than I did taking English all 4 years at Grant! I remember her timed tests for word count and accuracy and was delighted when the district added Selectric Typewriters to our classroom.
My condolences to her family and loved ones. I will never forget Mrs. Kappler!
