Helen Marie Weitzel Brackney went home to glory on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Born Helen Marie Windham on November 4, 1940, in Thatcher, Arizona, Helen was predeceased by her parents Thomas T. Windham and Comelle Windham and by her daughter Kathy Maddoux. Helen comes from humble beginnings and worked hard all of her life. The first of her immediate family to attend and eventually graduate from college. Helen earned a degree in psychology from Portland State University in 1973. Helen worked at Emanuel Hospital in Portland for over 25 years, starting as a Junior Volunteer Coordinator and then serving as Director of Volunteer Services. Helen continued her career as President of Thatcher Enterprises, a professional career marketing firm. In retirement, Helen kept herself busy by becoming a tax preparer and office manager for H & R Block. Helen is survived by her brother David Windham,
daughter Dorothy Maddoux, son Steven Maddoux, daughter-in-law Maryanne Maddoux, and her grandchildren Brittani Maddoux, Austin Maddoux, and Bailey Maddoux. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother, courageous business owner, innovator, and spirited entrepreneur with a passion for professionalism. She will be missed by all.
