Herb was born on January 24, 1927 in Portland, Oregon. He lived in Portland his whole life. He served honorably in the Navy.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Roseanna McDonnell. Children: Ruth Van Beek and husband Ray, Patti Kreins and husband Paul, Herb McDonnell III and wife Dianne and Aprille McDonnell and fiancé Sean Teeter. Grandchildren: Bryce McDonnell and wife Lauri, Candace McDonnell, Chris McDonnell, Gregory Wing, Sarah Beth Couture and husband Isaac, Ben Kreins, Aimee Virnig and husband Denny, Molly Paustian and husband Jeff and Emily McKnight and husband Dan. Treasured Great Grandchildren: Max, Mason and Rylan Virnig, Abby, Emma, Will, and Duke Paustian and Parker and Cooper McKnight.
