Horace Jack Prescott, Jr. was born on June 13, 1927, in Seattle, Washington.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1945 to 1946; sadly, his official records were among those lost in the 1973 fire at the National Personnel Records office in St. Louis.
Horace went missing in 1976 in the Seattle area, and was reported as such by his father shortly after.
On January 4, 1978, bones were discovered near Snohomish, Washington; they remained unidentified until 2019.
With the help of DNA analysis, dental records, and the persistence of the Snohomish County Medical Examiner and investigators, the remains were positively identified as those of Horace Jack Prescott, Jr.
Horace’s immediate family members have predeceased him, so please join us as we stand as his family to send him on his final journey.
