Howard Carter was born in Adair, Iowa to Earl and Florence Carter and passed away in Portland. He was raised in Palmdale, California and later attended USC on a track scholarship, where he met his future wife Barbara. During WWII he served as a Captain in the US Army Air Corps. After living in Glendale, California for many years, in 1996 they moved to Lake Oswego where they attended Lake Grove Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter Lynn (Chuck) Mason; grandsons Jeremy (Suzanne), Scott (Karli) and Travis; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Elaine. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael & All Angels Church at 2pm on Friday, November 9th at 1704 NE 43rd Ave. Interment with military honors will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
