Irane June Jones

As a teenager she met Kenneth Jones who lived in the same neighborhood. They would ride bikes down to the river and fish together.

Kenneth and Irane married on July 5, 1953. They purchased a newly built home in Parkrose and raised their five children. Irane was a great mom who helped the kids put on neighborhood plays. She always made the childrens birthday parties fun and memorable.

Fishing was a big part of her life. She belonged to the Multnomah Anglers and Hunting Club. She volunteered often with youth helping and teaching them to fish. Family, friends, gardening, and the outdoors brought Irane much joy. She loved to write poems and stories. None of them were published, but she always hoped that would happen. She always put others first and others immediately loved her.

Irane was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Jones, Sr., her daughter Valerie Waterman, and her son Kenneth Jones II. She is survived by her son Daniel of Newberg, OR. and his wife Kelly. David of Portland, OR. and her daughter Dana Jones of Philomath, OR. and her husband Randy Lettkeman. She has many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Irane will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Ross Hollywood Chapel, 4733 NE Thompson St, Portland, OR 97213. Following the celebration of life will be a graveside service from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086.
