Irene was born on March 13, 1919 in Humansville Missouri to her parents James Thomas Harrison and Virginia Hortense (Sanders) Harrison. Irene was the youngest of 13 children.
Irene married the “Love of her life,” John J. Chickenoff in January of 1953. They made their home in the Sacramento California area as her husband worked at the Travis Air Force Base. Irene was preceded in death by her husband John in 2005. Then she moved from California to Washington State to be closer to her family.
Irene had a passion for the Culinary Arts as she was a wonderful “Gourmet Cook.” She also decorated the homes her husband built for her with beautiful style. Irene was known to put on “Great Fashion Shows” for the Christian Women’s Club in Granite Bay California and belonged to the Athena Sorority of California.
Irene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church 3516 N. E. 71st Avenue, Portland Oregon 97213.
Memorial donations to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland Oregon alongside her Veteran husband at a later date.
