    It has been hard trying to find the words that will accurately express how I feel about Danny.  Grateful, for being the man our Mom needed.  Grateful to  him for being able to overlook the enormity of the task of helping to raise the children that were not of his blood.  Understanding that at times it was a hard task, but never walking away from that responsibility.  Knowing in his heart, that someone was accepting that responsibility for his own natural children.  I would like to think that Dad was grateful to Danny.    I don't want to pretend and say it was easy for me.  I loved my own father dearly.  So for me (and I only speak for myself), it was a hard transition for me.  And in my heart I could not think of Danny as my father.  But that is not to say that I didn't have enormous respect for him.  He did what most men would not do.  He was there for us, cared for us, put a roof over our heads, fed and clothes us.  Most of the time he worked 2 jobs in order to help Mom support us.  He had a good sense of humor, loved telling a funny story, when most of the time he spurt out laughing while finishing the story.  Always making me laugh, not so much because of the story, but because he got a kick out of the story himself.  I can see him setting in his chair, legs crossed, and the one shoe daggling from a foot that was a shaking, and shaking so much his shoe would reach the end of his toe just hanging on, never once did I see it fall off.  Always amazed me .  We had some really good moments that I will always treasure.  I can honestly say he will be missed.  I wish I would have told him because I think he needed to know this, "He did good."  Hopefully he can hear my heart..



When I was 10 Danny came into my life.  He brought a stability that we hadn't previously known with Dad and he became my dad.  In fact I sometimes wondered as a child if he was my biological father because we were so much alike.  He had the gift of gab and so did I.  He could talk to anyone anywhere at any time and I can do that to.  He was interested in people and their stories and he loved to tell his stories to them.  He was a sharer.  Some of my favorite times with him were when he would read the newspaper and share newsy items, especially the ones that made us laugh or were ridiculous.  The you mom would sign and say, “Oh Danny”.  When I was around him he made me feel warm, comfortable and part of a family.  I still remember the wrestling matches we would go to when I was a child.  Loved them!  He may not have been my “real” dad but he was my dad in every way and I will miss him.  But not for long Mom because I plan on seeing him again.  Our heavenly father promises that.  We can see him together.  Love you mom.

Danny was my surrogate  father for many years. He was always there for my mom and truly loved her, enough to take on the responsibility of 7 children. They were joined at the hip (haha), just kidding. He was a very gregarious guy and I never saw anyone who could talk to strangers like they were BFF s forever, the way he could. When I moved out at 17 years old I got to liked him a lot more. He was a hard working guy, and he taught that to me. Thanks for the memories, DANNY.

Danny was my father he and our mother divorced when I was 6yrs. old, I had little contact with him after that.  We connected when I was 19 when I was about to be married we had a few special evenings with him and Marge before and after my marriage.  He was genuinely a nice and kind man.  Was heartbroken when my brother Randy called me and gave me the news.  My heart goes out to Marge and the children that he raised as his own.  I know that he is in a better place and is with his parents Irvin and Hazel and all who passed on before him.       Jody R Sessions  ( Powell, WY )

Mom nothing pains me more than knowing dad is no longer there to talk to when I call. To joke with, to listen to stories, it is true he was my step-dad, however, he was so much more to me.  He always loved us kids as if we were his own.  Although, in the beginning I felt differently, I have over the last 47 years gotten to know him and love him..when my true dad died many, many years ago.  I felt it was no longer disloyal to him to call Danny dad..after this many years he deserved that right..I am so grateful for the 3 weeks I spent with you both, it gave me great memories of him, and I will miss him..love you mom.
