On Wednesday, August 3, 2022 our loving mother, Isabella Trepiccione, peacefully entered into the kingdom of heaven with family by her side. Isabella was born in Long Island City, New York on January 7,1928 to her Italian immigrant parents, Teresa and Pasquale Gambino. She grew up in the South Bronx and lived there until she married her husband Alphonso Trepiccione on September 23, 1949. They began their life together in Brooklyn, NY where they raised their family. Isabella graduated from Jane Adams HS, a vocational high school where she earned a diploma in fashion design, sewing, and tailoring. She was employed immediately in a French Couture House in Manhattan designing and tailoring couture gowns. One of her dreams was doing an apprenticeship in Paris but family life quickly took the place of that dream. Isabella continued using her skills by sewing fashionable clothes for herself and her children.
Isabella was a strong beautiful woman who was passionate about life and all it had to offer her. She faced the ups and downs with grace and gratitude. When faced with suddenly becoming a single parent to her four children, she put our care front and center, raising us into very capable adults. She had a gift for making friends and was loved by many. Many bonds were made at the local library, coffee shops, and the park. She adored going to the opera, ballet, musical plays, museums, and spending time at the botanical gardens. Isabella was very attentive to her house plants and gardening and had quite the knack at making them flourish. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting and especially enjoyed gifting everybody with her famous knitted slippers and her crocheted afghans. Retirement from her dental receptionist job opened the new experience of travel and Isabella loved it. She got to visit England, Italy, France, Mexico, and Canada, and often crossed the country to visit family. Isabella will especially be missed for her great sense of humor and her ability to make people smile and feel good about themselves. Most importantly, we will miss her great dedication and devotion to her family.
Isabella is predeceased by her husband Alphonso, her son Anthony, and her siblings Gabriel, Nancy, and Frances. She also leaves behind her loving children and their spouses, Barbara and Kent, Diane and Paul, and Andrea and Steve. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Chris(Agata), Dan, Isabelle(Mike), Damian(Lauren), Stella, Nick, Alexandra(Alexander). Isabella was also blessed with four adorable great grandchildren, Sabina, Lucia, Leonardo, and Lily.
