I. Lucille Simonis, 87, of Portland, Oregon, passed away into the arms of Jesus on September 26, 2023. She was born in Portland on November 15, 1935, to Hazel and Reginald Dayball. Lucy graduated from Jefferson High School in 1953. She attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland where she met the love of her life, Harry Simonis. They were married August 11, 1956, and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Lucy was an artist at heart, having many hobbies: oil painting, tole painting, stained glass, and other arts and crafts, but sewing and quilting became her true passion since retirement.
Lucy was a member of Aims Community Church as their family grew, and then the Ranch Chapel at the
Crooked River Ranch in Terrebonne until moving back to Portland, where she attended Gateway Church.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Harry, six children: Sheldon Simonis of Greenville, TX, Samina Gillum of
Portland, OR, Matt Simonis of Camano Island, WA, Andy Simonis of Gresham, OR, Emily Simonis of
