Jaime Lynn Gault
September 1, 1977 – May 26, 2019
On the morning of May 26, 2019, Jaime Lynn (Smith) Gault passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends after battling complications from lupus. Born September 1st, 1977 In Guelph, Ontario, Canada to Guy and Lynn Smith, the oldest of 2 children, Jaime was raised in the loving country town of Barrington, New Hampshire. She graduated from Oyster River High School where she excelled in tennis and soccer and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Following in her parent's footsteps, she graduated from the University of New Hampshire Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She pursued a Masters in Education and social work at the University of New Hampshire and then Portland State. After marrying the love of her life, Christian Gault, in 2004, they began their life in Portland, Oregon.
Her proudest accomplishments were the births of her two sons Jack Thurston (13) and Samuel Guy (12). She was a loving and proud mother and was deeply devoted to her children. Her devotion led to her involvement in Jack and Sam’s sports, school events, and love of the outdoors. She was proud of her Mohawk heritage and passionate about her work with the National Indian Child Welfare Association. In recent years, she became active in lupus awareness and was a published author. All who knew her were touched by her generous nature and joy for life. Her outer beauty; however, was unmatched by her inner beauty and spirit - and she will be remembered by all the lives she touched and positively impacted.
She was preceded in death by her father (Guy). Survivors include her mother (Lynn), brother (Jesse), husband (Christian), and sons (Jack and Sam). She also leaves behind countless friends and family members.

My heart is broken for you and yours, for I well know that pain. My Jody (now 20 yrs gone) and your Jaime were both smart, talented and beautiful inside and out, and they had great respect for each other on the tennis court. We are lucky and proud to be their mothers, even if for too short a time. I am thinking of you now and going forward as you walk the painful path that I walk. If you need help, please reach out to me. ❤💕

Jaime was so lively and easy to talk with. We were just acquaintances, but she was memorable to be around. I specifically recall the time we talked for hours volunteering on a 4th-grade field trip. From the moment I met her I instantly was drawn to her happy way of being. She was so lovely, inside and out, such a huge smile, sunny outlook, and an easy laugh. I loved talking with her about our boys and how much we loved growing up in New England. Jaime's lovely spirit shone from her whole face, and she was truly a wonderful human being.

Jamie was a wonderful mom whose care and concern for her boys was evident in everything she did. I worked at her boys’ elementary school, and she was unfailingly kind to everyone around her. Jamie had a smile that could light up a room!
Hugs to Jack and Sam.

To The Smith and Gault Family -
I am so sorry for your loss of Jamie. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. This is a very sad time and one that should not have happened to someone so young and full of life - she will be sorely missed.
Please try to remember the wonderful memories throughout Jamie's life, as you go through the process and grieve her passing. Also remember that you have wonderful and close family and friends, be sure you know we are here for you and can be an ear to listen to or a shoulder to cry on, as you need. Take care of yourselves. God Bless.

To the Gault Family and Friends,
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Jamie on one of my visits to Portland. Jamie was warm, kind and very sincere. You rarely have an opportunity to meet someone that you immediately relate too and feel the sincerity in their heart. Jamie left me with that memory and for that I will remember her fondly, I was a stranger to her but she made me feel welcomed. Hold on to the memories of her sweet smile.
Respectfully, Rick Bargioni
