James Arthur Dewey

Dewey, James Arthur (The Great), age 74, formerly of Portland, Oregon passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 with his family by his side. James was born August 20, 1947, adopted by Dr. & Mrs. Donald Dewey of Owatonna, Minnesota. Married three times, he is survived by his mother Barbara, two brothers, seven devoted children and eight loving grandchildren.

James attended both the Lutheran church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A classical concert pianist, James had a love for music. He was invited to perform in Seoul, Korea during his service in the United States Army while stationed in Vietnam during the war. Throughout his life James had succeeded in many fields. A master negotiator in all he did. Before retiring James was the founder of Investors Reserve Inc., licensed in securities and life insurance, and an Oregon Realtor for over 40 years.

James had a passion for traveling the world but the Oregon Coast he loved the most. He pursued and cherished history, and had a love for literature and rare books. This brought the opportunity for him to

travel the world even more as a member of numerous prestigious libraries including societies in all of Europe.

James was a loving father, son and grandfather who was adored by his children and loved by so many. He will be greatly missed.
