I was hired by James Benton after I heard they needed a guitar player and went and auditioned  in 1962? I was just out of the Navy. The music was the best I had ever encountered. I played semi-progressive jazz mixed with rock  and roll / R&B. I would like to do a tribute on you tube for the group that I loved performing with.  Hopefully, there is a relative in Scappoose that can get back to me.

It is hard to put into words, the profound effect, Sweet Baby James has had on my life. You were always laughing, you always had a glowing smile whenever I would see you and for that, I will always have a warm bit of joy in my heart from you Jim. The world has lost a great man but the legend will never fade. Goodbye my friend, hopefully I will see you again in the next life!

Sweet Baby James... I miss you sooo much My Big Brother, it just doesn't seem Real to me Still. I still have the message you left me on my voice mail, when you heard I had been in the hospital... in 2013. I will always keep it. You Touched My Spirit My Friend... and the talks we had. You were the Bestest, and I know You are w/ The Choir of Angels Singing Your Heart Out. I will Always Keep You in My Thoughts & My Heart. I know that God's Got You... Rest In Peace My Big Brother.  P.S. You Always Kept It Real !

Jim I was honored to be your baby brother. Our relationship and friendship was the best two brothers from another mother could ever ask for. You will always have a special place in my heart and mind. I will miss you tons and this world will not be the same without you in it. Until we meet again my brother.  Rest in Peace.

Sweet Baby James was one of the finest people I've ever known. As a fellow musician, (keyboard player) we performed together many times over the years. As a friend, there was none better! I'm blessed to have had him in my life...
