

A long time resident of Portland Oregon. She is survived by three daughters; Mary Connors, Margaret Green and Mignonne Aquino. A daughter Ruth Cooper, preceded her in death. Also surviving are grandchildren Terry Connors, Eugene Connors, Colleen Lemmon, Cline Moore, Mattheau Lent, Mersedes Aquino, Cesar Aquino, and 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was also step-mother to Becky Schiedler, Dan Schindler and Jennifer Tersek, 7 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Jane worked for METRO for 15 years and made many friends. After her husband of 35 years David Butler passed away, Jane married Gerry Schindler and converted to Judaism. Choosing the name Ora, meaning Light. They were married 11 years, loved to travel, garden, entertain, and ballroom dance.
After his death she married Manachem Taiblum, Cantor at Neveh Shalom. Both Gerry and Manny were Holocaust survivors. She encouraged Manny to finish his book about surviving the Holocaust, called “With G-d By My Side”. They traveled together on a book tour put together by Jane.
Jane loved to organize trips, her apartment pretty much anything, she had a special talent for it.
When she could no longer garden outside she tended her orchids, getting them to rebloom to the amazement of all who knew her. She mentored many people with her gardening and cooking skills.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Medical Teams International.
