Jay was born August, 30, 1942 in Portland, Oregon to J.H. and Margaret Richardson. He was the oldest of four children. He grew up in Portland where he met his wife, Darlene. They married on June 22, 1985 in Vancouver, Washington.
Jay was in the US Army and the National Guard for a combined total of 20 years and worked for the Portland Water Bureau for 30 years. He loved riding motorcycles and collecting antique guns.
Surviving Jay are his wife, Darlene; step-son, Mike Davis; sons, Jason of Denver, Colorado and Aryn (Dianna) of Florence, Oregon; grandson, Jacob of Glendale, California; granddaughters, Jadynn and Liana; step-mother, Denise Richardson of Portland, Oregon; sister, Michelle (Kelly) Pixley of Portland, Oregon; and brother, Marshall (Julie) Richardson of Ridgefield, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.H. and Margaret Richardson; and his brother, Michael Richardson.
