

Jean Daly, 90, of Portland, was born in Boise ID to John T. Swift and Helen R. Gard. She attended Boise HS, University of Washington, and Reed College, graduating from Reed with a Masters of Arts in Teaching. She taught at Villa St. Rose, Roosevelt HS, Jackson HS, and PCC.
She married Lawrence Gillen in 1947 and they had 6 children together. She married Francis "Pete" Daly in 1973 and they resided in Beavercreek for 31 years.
Jean was a member of Alpha Chi Omega, Lambda Rho, Italic Handwriting Society, St. Philip Benizi Altar Society, ACCW, and YLI.
Jean was pre-deceased by her brother David, her son Gregory, her granddaughter Mary Siobhan, and her husband Pete and his sons Tommy, Matthew, and Tim. She is survived by Kathleen, Judith, Patrick, and Paul Gillen, and Claire Fanger; Patrick, Monie, and Peter Daly, and Jeannie Peterson;19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Kay Swift and family;and cousins Jim Gard, Robert Gard, and Sister Mary Grace Swift.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima in Portland on Friday, April 15 at 10:30am. A reception will follow at St. Rose. A recitation of the rosary will start at 10am.
