

Jean was born on November 25, 1947, in New York, New York, to Mary and Fred Komantz. She was raised in Portland, Oregon, where she would go on to build a full and meaningful life. Jean graduated from Parkrose High School and remained deeply connected to her community throughout her years.
On February 24, 1960, in Weiser, Idaho, Jean married the love of her life, Pete Sorlien.Their first meeting at the Silver Skate Ice Rink marked the beginning of a remarkable partnership that would span more than 60 years, defined by devotion, companionship, and enduring love.
Jean was first and foremost a dedicated mother to her four children, and she took immense pride in her family. In addition to raising her children, she worked for 18 years with Indepak, where she was known for her reliability and strong work ethic.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially sewing, and was known by those who loved her as a kind and outgoing person who formed many lifelong friendships. Jean’s warmth and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Jean is survived by her beloved spouse, Pete Sorlien; her children, Dan, Brian, Scott, and Holly; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Jean will be remembered as a loving and dedicated partner, mother, and friend whose kindness and steady presence enriched the lives of those around her.
