Jerald Cecil McCarty passed on July 8, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born on November 19, 1942 to Cecil and Zola (Martin) McCarty, and had been a longtime resident of Portland, Oregon.

Mr. McCarty leaves behind a thankful and blessed family: children Cynthia Cole, Crystal Cole, George Cole, and James McCarty, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Joy VanLieu, and wife Gloria McCarty.

Jerry was humble and kind.

His life will be celebrated at a service to be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:30 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, to be followed by a committal with military honors in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, and then a gathering beginning at 1:30 pm in the Lincoln reception room.
