She was born in Fruita, Colorado on April 28, 1922 to Leo W. Crisman and Velma Jane Mills. After graduating high school, she went on to pursue a career as an accountant at the Oregon Bank. She was married to Olaf Tollefsen on June 28 1944 in Hillsboro, Oregon. They met at a dance near the Tigard, Oregon area.
She faithfully attended Reformation Lutheran Church for more than 25 years, where she served in the women’s quilting group and helped to facilitate social events. She and Olaf were members of the Isaac Walton League, the Aloha Chapter which is a Conservation group. As members they helped develop many campgrounds in the Mount Hood National Forest including their favorite at Olallie Lake.
Together, they enjoyed gardening, canning, camping, fishing, hunting, picking huckleberries and sharing their faith together.. She and Olaf lived next door to Olaf’s brother, Frithjof, were like a second set of parents to their nephew Norman and niece Ellen. Well loved by family, she is remembered for her smile, laughter, as well as calm and pleasant demeanor.
She is survived by her nephew Norman, his children Travis and Angela; nieces Ellen, Shirley and Mary; nephews George and Bruce, and cousins Robert and Betty Jean among others.
A committal service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 24th at Finley Sunset Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service will be at 1:30 PM at Reformation Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with a reception to follow at the church.
