God’s child and loving husband
Jingshun Chen, 85, passed away to be with the LORD on March 16, 2015 at his Lake Oswego, Oregon home with his family at his side.
Jingshun was born on Nov 11, 1930 in Xiamen, China to Xueyi Chen and Renai Huang. He has two siblings, Zhenyu and Shiyiao. Jingshun married with his wife Huaibi Shao in 1955 in Shanghai, China.
In 1956, Jingshun graduated from Zhejing University in Electrical Engineering, and was employed at Shandong Electrical Design Institute until 1995. He was an expert in boiler and piping design for coal power plants and was responsible for establishing power generating assets in the Shandong power grid during that period.
In 1980, upon God’s calling, Jingshun and a few others started one of the first house churches in Jinan. He was bold in proclamation of the Gospel of God to people surrounding him. From 2001 to 2009, Jingshun was the pastor at Chinese Congregation at Riverside Baptist Church in Miami.
Jingshun enjoyed fellowship with fellow believers, food and hiking. He was survived by his wife and two sons Zhen and Guang, and grandchildren Andrew, Talia, Jeremy, and Ana.
Visitation will be March 19th at 12 noon and will be immediately followed with burial service at Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The memorial service will be held on March 212015 at Christen Meeting Place in Beaverton Oregon at 10:00 am.
According to family’s wishes, no memorial funds will be established. It is suggested that donations are to be sent to Samaritan funds at the churches where donors are affiliated with.
The Chen family is thankful for who our LORD God is, for what our LORD God has done for us, and for His grace during our trials. Further, we would like to thank Christian Meeting Place, Southwest Bible Church, Chinese Christian Gospel Church, Ephesians Fellowship, Jinan Church, Shanghai Church, and former members of Chinese Congregation at Riverside Baptist Church for prayers, visitation and support.
Psalms 91: 1-4: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
Faith …. Joy ….. Devotion
