People like John are extraordinary. So we can be sad that we've lost someone we adored and who we will miss everyday. But we can also be grateful for the time we did know with him.  He was a friendly and trustworthy colleague.

While I only knew John for less than 25 years, he was a friend and trusted friend and colleague.   I am grateful to have worked with him most of those years.  He was always warm and engaging  and he did everything with care and respect.   John did that consistently while affording everyone he interacted with the same honesty, good manners and unfailing fairness. 

John was incredibly bright and had an engaging enthusiasm for life.  John could make friends with anyone and everyone.

I will miss John and will cherish the times we had together.
