

John Isaacson, 87, died of natural causes November 4, 2010 at his home in Clackamas, OR. He passed very peacefully in the company of family members. A private service will be held November 15, 2010 for family members prior to burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
John was born December 9, 1922 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He served in the Army Air Force in WW II after which he attended Oklahoma State University where he earned his Masters Degree in Agriculture & Economics. After graduation John became an employee of the Federal Government.
John married his high school sweetheart Etta Ward in 1942. They had two children, a daughter Alice and a son Gary. In 1955 John took a transfer that took his family to California. In 1962 another transfer brought them to Oregon. John served as a chief economist for Water and Land Management for the Northwest. He spent a lot of time traveling thru Washington, Oregon and Idaho dealing with water and land conservation. Oregon became home to John and his wife Etta. John retired from Government employment in 1980. After retirement John became involved in wood working, gardening and of course the Grandchildren kept him busy.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, two sisters, Irene Ward and Helen Bryant, a brother Ed and wife Maggie Isaacson all of Oklahoma, a son Gary and wife Susie of Prineville, OR and Daughter Alice and husband Bob Holloway of Oakdale, CA. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. John was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. He will be missed but not forgotten.
