John Joseph O'Donnell

John was born in Portland on November 13, 1927 to Thomas and Catherine O’Donnell. He graduated from Jefferson High School and joined the US Army in October 1946. John served through February 1948 and received the WWII Victory Medal. He was an MP and was stationed in Alaska, including the Aleutian Islands. John later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Portland. He went to work for United Airlines in Portland and later owned his own equipment rental business.

John enjoyed the outdoors and spent as much time as he could out camping and fishing. He always had a cheerful disposition and outlook on life, and he will truly be missed.

John is survived by his sister Kathlene Gooley; his two nieces, Janet Lindgren and Carol Smith; and his nephew, Kevin Gooley.
