Born on May 13, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, Jay dedicated much of his life to serving others. Following college, he joined the United States Coast Guard, where he served as a pilot for several years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After his military service, he continued his passion for aviation as a pilot for United Airlines, where he enjoyed a distinguished career until his retirement.
Jay was a devoted family man whose kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to service, and the lasting friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jay's final resting place will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon, where his memory will be honored by family and friends for generations to come.
