Joseph Stephen Kwiecinski

Joseph ‘Joe’ Kwiecinski, a longtime resident of Happy Valley, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 21, 2024. Born on June 20, 1964, in Washington D.C., Joe was the son of Robert Stephen Kwiecinski and Patricia Ann Dawson.

Joe grew up alongside his sister, Julie, in Annapolis, Maryland, where he attended St. Mary's Annapolis for his K-12 education. Following graduation Joe served in the U.S. Army, from 1985 to 1990.

After his military service, he moved to Oregon, attending George Fox University in Newberg where he received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Management and Organizational Leadership. Joe built a career in warehouse logistics for two decades before transitioning to medical sales for the remainder of his professional life.

In 1995, Joe and Rachael met and in 1998 got married in Las Vegas. They were blessed with two daughters, Rylee and Julia. Joe was an immensely proud father, never missing an opportunity to speak about his daughters' accomplishments to anyone who would listen.

A devoted sports enthusiast, Joe was a lifelong supporter of the NFL's Washington Redskins, despite the team not getting close to the Super Bowl since ‘92. He also enjoyed watching the NHL's Washington Capitals and any sport his children played growing up. Joe was known for his enduring relationships, having maintained connections with friends and colleagues over decades. He had a gruff exterior but was a softie at heart, you just had to be at the right place at the right time to see it.

Joe leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Rachael; his daughters, Rylee and Julia; his sister, Julie; and his nephews, JJ, Tommy, and Alex. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Pat, and his nephew, Stephen.

A Military Honors Service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery (11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, Oregon) on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 2 pm. All guests should arrive between 1:30 and 1:40 pm. A celebration of life will immediately follow the service at Sports on Tap Restaurant from 3 pm-5 pm. 16021 SE Happy Valley Town Center Dr, Happy Valley, Oregon.
